Dr. Terence L. Adams
1st Network Battalion

Dr. Adams assumed duties as the Deputy to the Commander, 1st Network Battalion, Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations Group, Camp Pendleton, California on June 4, 2020.

He enlisted in the Marine Corps in June 1982 and retired from active duty in June 2005. During his service in the Marine Corps, he served in numerous assignments at various echelons of command and several operational deployments.  

His private sector job experience includes Deputy Director Risk Management (Western region) Citigroup, Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (DCISO) Ernst &Young, Deputy Director Software architecture and integration Blackline systems.

He has 14 years of public service within the DOD. His federal government service assignments include, Marine Corps Installations West G-6 Operations Officer, Assistant Chief of Staff G-6 MCIWEST-MCB Camp Pendleton, Director MAGTF IT Service Center (West).  

Dr. Adams holds a Doctorate in Applied & Computational Mathematics from the University of Southern California (2019), Master of Science (MSc) in Digital Innovation and Information Systems from Pepperdine University (2015), Master of Science (MSc) Computer Engineering California Institute of Technology (2008), B.S. Computer Science from San Diego State University (1997).

Information Technology certifications include Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
