Major John T. Miller
Major John T. Miller, a native of Jacksonville, NC, commissioned in May 2012, through the PLC Program after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of North Carolina At Wilmington. After graduating from The Basic School in June 2013, he proceeded to MCB Quantico Basic Communications Officers Course for Training.

After completing his primary military occupational school in December 2013, Maj Miller executed orders to 2d Battalion 9th Marines, 6th Marine Regiment in MCB Camp Lejeune. Maj Miller served as the Battalion S-6 and Information Management Officer. In July 2014, Maj Miller deployed with 2d Battalion 9th Marines, 6th Marine Regiment to Okinawa on the Unit Deployment Program. After the conclusion of the deployment the battalion was deactivated and Maj Miller reported to 2D Marine Division G-6. Maj Miller served as the G-6 Network Operations Officer from May 2015 to May 2017.

After completing his tour at 2D Marine Division in May 2017. Major Miller was assigned as the Field Service Branch head for Marine Corps Installations East Marine (MCIEAST) Corps Base Camp Lejeune. He was designated the action officer for the Windows 10 project. Once the Windows 10 project was completed Maj Miller was assigned MCIEAST G-6 Assistant Operations Officer. During this time Maj Miller was chosen to be the action officer for Operation Bug Bounty and the Hurricane Florence and Michael network restoration project. In February 2019, Maj Miller was pulled for an Individual Augment billet for Special Operation Command Central (SOCCENT).

During this assignment, Maj Miller was the J-6 Plans Officer for the SOCCENT J-6 Forward. He provided communications support for all Special Operations Forces in Central Command. Maj Miller also served as the SOCCENT J-6 for Joint Exercise Eager Lion. Upon completion of this deployment in October 2019, he executed orders to Combat Logistics Regiment 2.

At Combat Logistics Regiment 2, Maj Miller served as the Regimental Communications Officer, a billet rated for a Major. During his tour he completed Expeditionary Warfare School Blended Seminar Program in June 2021. He has held this billet from October 2019 to June 2021.

Maj Miller was assigned to II MEF Information Group in June 2021. He was assigned as the Space Integration and Plans Officer in the Information Command Center and Fire and Effects Coordination Center. Additionally, he served as the Information Officer for 2d Marine Regiment during MWX 22-3. In June of 2023 he executed orders to 2d Network Battalion.

Maj Miller’s operational experience includes Unit Deployment Program 2-14 (July 2014-February 2015) and Operation Inherent Resolve (February-October 2019). Billets he held, Battalion S-6, G-6 Network Operations Officer, G-6 Assistant Operations Officer, J-6 Plans Officer, Regimental S-6, Space Integration and Plans Officer.

His awards include Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
