Sergeant Major Casey S. Chandler

Sergeant Major Chandler was born in Boise, Idaho and graduated from Capital High School in 2001.  He enlisted in October 2005 attending recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California where he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Private First Class, and followed up with the completion of  Marine Combat Training in Camp Pendleton, California.  Upon the conclusion of both recruit training and Marine Combat Training he reported to Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida for Air Traffic Control School.
 
After completing Air Traffic Control training in August 2006 he was meritoriously promoted to Lance Corporal and reported to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar, California and served as an Air Traffic Controller.  While at MCAS Miramar he was selected to attend Advanced RADAR Air Traffic Control School in Pensacola, Florida, he attended and then returned to MCAS Miramar.  In June 2007 he was promoted to Corporal and in February 2008 he graduated from Corporals Course. Following Corporal's Course he received accompanied orders to Okinawa, Japan.
 
In July 2008, Corporal Chandler reported to Marine Air Control Squadron (MACS) 4, Detachment Alpha in Okinawa, Japan serving as a Tower and RADAR Controller.  Upon his arrival to MACS-4 he was sent to support Talon Vision '09 and Cobra Gold '09.  In November 2008 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In May 2009, Sergeant Chandler deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  Upon returning from OEF he attended Cobra Gold '10 in Thailand.  In April 2010 he attended and completed  Sergeant's Course.
 
In June 2011, Sergeant Chandler executed orders and reported to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina.  In September 2011, he was promoted to Staff Sergeant and was designated as a tower supervisor, the Federal Aviation Administration certified tower examiner, and assigned as a crew chief.  Staff Sergeant Chandler attended Career Course in April 2013.  In December 2013, Staff Sergeant Chandler reported to the Marine Security Guard (MSG) School in Quantico, VA.
 
Following graduation in March 2014, Staff Sergeant Chandler reported to his first MSG post in Bamako, Mali where he remained until 2015 when he received his second post assignment for MSG in Bern, Switzerland. In January 2016, Staff Sergeant Chandler was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. In March 2017, Gunnery Sergeant Chandler received orders to Detachment Charlie, MACS-2, Cherry Point, North Carolina.

During his tenure with Detachment Charlie, MACS-2, Gunnery Sergeant Chandler began his assignment assigned to H&HS Cherry Point, North Carolina where he served as a crew chief and then as the Tower Chief for MCAS Cherry Point. During this time he attended the Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) Course becoming a Marine Air Traffic Mobile Team Instructor. In January 2019, Gunnery Sergeant Chandler returned to Detachment Charlie, attended the WTI Course obtaining the WTI MOS. Upon his return, he served as the Operations Chief for Detachment Charlie, MACS-2.
  
In December 2019, Gunnery Sergeant Chandler is selected for First Sergeant and attends the First Sergeant's Course where he received orders to Combat Logistics Battalion 23 to serve as the Inspector-Instructor First Sergeant for Engineer Services Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 23, in Springfield, Oregon. Nearing the end of his tour with Engineer Services Company, he received orders to 3d Battalion, 2d Marines to serve as the Headquarters and Service Company First Sergeant.
 
First Sergeant Chandler executed these orders in April of 2023 where he served as the Headquarters and Service Company First Sergeant. First Sergeant Chandler remained in this billet until March 2024 when he was promoted to Sergeant Major and executed orders to 2nd Network Battalion.
Sergeant Major Chandler's personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2nd Award) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2nd Award).
