Communications Chief
Master Gunnery Sergeant English enlisted in the Marine Corps and attended Boot Camp at MCRD, Paris Island, South Carolina in September of 1993.  Private First Class English then reported to the School of Infantry, Marine Combat Training at Camp Johnson, North Carolina for follow on training. He then reported to Marine Corps Communication-Electronics School 29 Palms, California where he obtained his Primary Marine Occupational Specialty of 0621 Field Radio Operator.

In February of 1994, Private First Class English reported to 2nd Marines Regiment, Headquarters Company, and Communications Platoon at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.  During this tour he was deployed to 29 Palms, California in support of CAX desert training and Norway for cold weather training. He was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal in June of 1994. He then went on to deploy to Haiti in September of 1994 in support of Operation Uphold Democracy. Upon promotion to Corporal in January of 1997 he continued his tour and completed his contract with the Marine Corps in September and exited the Corps.
 
In February of 2003, Corporal English re-enlisted into the Marine Corps and reported to 4th Marines Regiment, Headquarters Company, S6 Platoon. During this time, he got promoted to Sergeant in August 2004 and served as S6 Platoon Sergeant. While serving as the Platoon Sergeant he volunteered as an Individual Augmentation (IA) for a combat role in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).

In 2007, Sergeant English reported to 2nd Marines Division, 1st Battalion 9th Marines, S6 Platoon, Camp Lejeune. While assigned to 9th Marines Sergeant English was selected to Staff Sergeant. By being selected to Staff Sergeant he received orders to 3rd Battalion 10th Marines to serve as the Transmission Chief.

In 2008, Sergeant English got promoted to Staff Sergeant and while serving as the Transmission Chief, 3rd Battalion 10th Marines went to Iraq to support OEF as part of a Task Force Military Police and was responsible for three prisoner of war camps throughout Iraq. The prison camp that Staff Sergeant English was a part of was an airbase located in Al Asad. This combat tour was his second one.  

In 2009, Staff Sergeant English reported to Recruiter School in San Diego, California. Upon completion of Recruiter School Staff Sergeant English received orders to 4th Marines Division, 4th District, RS Detroit, Michigan. 

In 2012, Staff Sergeant English reported to 2nd Marines Division, 2nd Battalion 9th Marines, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. While serving as the Transmission Chief he was deployed to Okinawa, Japan as part of a Unit Deployed Patrol (UDP). During this time, he got selected and promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in August 2014. 

In 2015, Gunnery Sergeant reported to 4th Marines Division, 14th Marines Regiment, Headquarters Battery and served as the Communications Chief. During this time, he got selected and promoted to Master Sergeant in April 2019.

In 2019, Master Sergeant English reported to III Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF), 7th Communications Battalion, Okinawa, Japan. While serving with 7th Comm he held the billet of Communications Chief Senior Staff Non-Commissioned Officer in charge of Deployed Joint Command and Control (DJC2), Alpha Company Communications Chief and 7th Comm Bn Operations Chief. 

In 2022, Master Sergeant English reported to III Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), Okinawa, Japan as the 31st MEU Communications Chief. During the time with the MEU, Master Sergeant English was deployed on four patrols. He also got selected and promoted to Master Gunnery Sergeant in June 2024.

In 2024, Master Gunnery Sergeant English reported to II Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations Group (MCCOG), 2nd Network Battalion, Camp Lejeune, as the Communications Chief. 

Master Gunnery Sergeant English's personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal X2 and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal X2.
